Volkswagen has revealed the main specifications of its upcoming ID Cross, a compact all-electric SUV set to join the brand’s growing EV lineup. The model is scheduled to launch in autumn 2026 and is aimed at providing a practical and versatile option for urban and long-distance driving.
The ID Cross is based on Volkswagen’s MEB+ platform, which allows for efficient packaging and flexible electric drivetrain options. Volkswagen will offer two battery capacities, 37 kWh and 52 kWh, and three power outputs from front-mounted motors: approximately 85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW. The vehicle will use a front-wheel-drive layout.
The combination of multiple battery and motor options is designed to suit a wide range of customer needs, from daily city commutes to longer trips. Volkswagen also emphasizes affordability and practicality, with the ID Cross expected to start at around €28,000 in European markets.
The ID Cross EV represents Volkswagen’s strategy to expand its electric SUV offerings and provide accessible EV choices for global buyers. Deliveries are expected to begin by late 2026.
