Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast has revealed two new flagship luxury electric vehicles — the Lac Hong 800S and Lac Hong 900S — as part of a broader restructuring of its portfolio into three distinct brand lines. The unveiling took place in Hanoi, marking the company’s strategic entry into the ultra‑luxury EV segment and positioning the new models against premium competitors like the BMW X7 and Mercedes‑Benz S‑Class.
VinFast’s new brand framework consists of:
- Lac Hong – Ultra‑luxury marque featuring elite models such as the 900 LX, 900S, and 800S
- VF Series – Mass‑market passenger EVs from compact to larger SUVs
- Green – Commercial and service mobility vehicles
The Lac Hong 800S and 900S join the existing 900 LX under the ultra‑luxury banner. Built with a focus on premium design and advanced technology, both models feature high‑end interiors with materials such as Nappa leather, wood, and gold‑plated accents, plus executive‑class amenities. They can be configured with tri‑motor powertrains delivering up to 460 kW, and include fully active suspension systems designed for comfort and performance.
VinFast is targeting a commercial launch in 2027, with the new models aimed at discerning customers seeking luxury, performance, and an electrified driving experience. The company says this move reflects growing confidence in its engineering capabilities and its ambition to compete with established global luxury brands.
