Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast has achieved a remarkable milestone in the Indian market, surpassing 100,000 EV sales in just the first nine months of 2025. This makes VinFast the first car brand in India to reach such a high domestic sales figure within a single calendar year.
According to company data, VinFast sold 13,914 EVs in September 2025 alone, bringing its year-to-date total to 103,884 units. This impressive performance underscores the growing adoption of electric vehicles in India, driven by increasing consumer interest, supportive government policies, and a wider EV ecosystem.
VinFast’s success is attributed to its strategic entry into India, focusing on models tailored for Indian consumers, particularly its VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs. The company has also set up a manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu with an annual production capacity of up to 150,000 vehicles, ensuring sufficient supply to meet rising demand.
To further boost sales during the festive season, VinFast has introduced exclusive Diwali offers, including charging benefits worth up to ₹75,000 on the VF7 and ₹60,000 on the VF6. These initiatives aim to make electric mobility more accessible and attractive to Indian buyers.
Looking ahead, VinFast plans to expand its production capacity and launch new EV models in India, reinforcing its commitment to accelerating the country’s transition to sustainable transportation. With its aggressive growth strategy, VinFast is positioning itself as a key player in India’s rapidly expanding EV market.
