Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has officially inaugurated its first and largest showroom in India, located in the bustling city of Chennai. The opening signals an important turn in the company’s India strategy as it seeks to gain a foothold in one of the world’s fastest-growing EV markets.

Strategically positioned in Chennai, the flagship showroom showcases VinFast’s expanding lineup of electric vehicles, offering potential buyers a hands-on experience with its models, including test drives and personalised consultations. This comes shortly after the commencement of construction on VinFast’s manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.

The Chennai showroom, designed to reflect the brand’s global standards, also features a customer experience lounge, digital displays, and interactive product demos. It will serve as a regional hub for customer engagement, sales, and after-sales service.

Commenting on the launch, VinFast India CEO Tran Mai Hoa said, “India is a key part of our global growth roadmap. The opening of our flagship showroom in Chennai underlines our commitment to the Indian market and our goal to make smart, sustainable mobility accessible to all.”

VinFast aims to open multiple retail and service touchpoints across major Indian cities by the end of 2025. The company’s plans also include deploying locally assembled EVs once its Tamil Nadu facility becomes operational, potentially reducing prices and improving accessibility.

Industry analysts see VinFast’s aggressive entry as a sign of growing competition in India’s EV segment, dominated by domestic giants like Tata Motors and Mahindra, as well as international players.

The Chennai showroom is now open to the public, offering test drives, product information, and early pre-booking options.
