With the opening of its first authorised dealership in the U.S. state of California, VinFast, Vietnam’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has made a significant change to its expansion strategy in the United States.
Californians will be introduced to the all-electric VF8 and VF9 SUVs at this first dealership, which is run by Sunroad Automotive Group and is tucked away near San Diego. Consumers may now buy, rent, test drive, and get complete post-purchase assistance, which includes upkeep, repairs, and authentic replacement components.
This action marks a calculated shift away from VinFast’s previous direct-to-consumer business strategy. Management recognised that a shift to the tried-and-true dealership strategy was necessary because of issues in the United States, including declining demand and trade-tariff uncertainty.
With a network of more than 30 authorised dealerships in 15 U.S. states, VinFast is pledging to accelerate its dealer footprint. California is leading the push with plans to extend throughout the state.
The flagship VF9 starts at $62,900, while the VF8 retails for $39,900 (Eco) and $44,900 (Plus). The company is also taking advantage of reasonable prices and strong warranties. In addition to 0% interest and a lease starting at $269 per month, attractive financing options provide lifetime battery and vehicle warranties of 10 years and 125,000 miles.
As part of its larger objective to promote environmentally friendly transportation across the country, VinFast is investigating electric buses for the US market in addition to passenger cars.
VinFast’s intention to further establish itself in the biggest EV market in the world is indicated by its California dealership. By combining franchise agreements with a vigorous expansion plan, the business is creating the foundation for a long-term, sustainable presence in the United States.
