Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has officially entered Indonesia’s e-scooter market following the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with a group of strategic local dealers.

The agreements mark a further step in VinFast’s international expansion of its electric two-wheeler business and signal its long-term focus on Indonesia, one of Southeast Asia’s largest motorcycle markets.

VinFast has partnered with K3, Citra Abadi Sedaya, PT Bevos Auto Mandiri, PT Sapta Jaya, MotorArt, PT Sinergies Dua Kawan, and PT HINU. The dealers have experience in automobile and motorcycle distribution and are expected to support the rollout of VinFast’s products and services in line with the company’s operational standards.

The company plans to begin deploying its distribution network in the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area in the second quarter of 2026, with further expansion to other regions across the country thereafter.

VinFast intends to introduce a range of battery-swapping e-scooters in Indonesia, including the VinFast Evo, VinFast Feliz II, VinFast Flazz, and VinFast Viper, along with additional models at a later stage. The product lineup has been tailored to suit Indonesia’s tropical climate, urban traffic conditions, and daily commuting needs.

During 2026, VinFast aims to expand its presence to hundreds of authorized dealerships and service workshops nationwide. Its strategy in Indonesia includes developing an integrated ecosystem that combines retail and after-sales networks, financing solutions, and charging and battery-swapping infrastructure in cooperation with V-Green, alongside partnerships with financial institutions.

Indonesia is part of VinFast’s broader regional expansion plan. The company has previously signed dealer agreements in the Philippines and plans to accelerate growth across five priority markets in 2026: the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Indonesia is among the world’s largest motorcycle markets, supported by rapid urbanization and increasing interest in environmentally friendly transport. VinFast has been present in the country for two years, during which it has introduced several electric vehicle models, including electric SUVs, and begun operations at its Subang facility. The company has also expanded its dealership and after-sales network and developed charging infrastructure in collaboration with V-Green.
