In a landmark achievement for Vietnam’s automotive industry, VinFast has officially become the first carmaker in the nation’s history to surpass 100,000 vehicle sales within the first three quarters of a single year. The record-breaking milestone cements VinFast’s dominance as Vietnam’s best-selling automobile brand for 11 consecutive months, reinforcing its leadership in the country’s rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) market.
VinFast Sets New Benchmark for Vietnam’s Auto Industry
In September 2025 alone, VinFast delivered 13,914 electric vehicles across its diverse lineup, bringing its year-to-date total to an unprecedented 103,884 units. This is the highest cumulative sales figure ever recorded in Vietnam’s automotive history, signalling both VinFast’s strong market performance and the country’s accelerating shift toward sustainable mobility.
Top Performers: VF 3 Leads the Charge
Leading VinFast’s sales momentum is the VF 3, popularly hailed as “the national electric car”. The compact EV has become a household name, with 31,386 units sold in the first nine months of 2025, including 2,682 units in September.
Following closely is the VF 5, which recorded 30,956 units sold between January and September, with 3,847 units delivered last month. Its fleet-orientated version, the Hero Green, also gained traction in the commercial EV space with 8,604 cumulative sales, including 2,173 units in September.
The VF 6, another key model in VinFast’s lineup, reached 14,425 units sold, with 1,933 units delivered in September and a strong backlog of pending orders. Meanwhile, the VF 7, one of Vietnam’s top-selling C-segment SUVs, achieved 5,877 cumulative sales, including 778 units in the same month.
Lime Green Sees Strong Market Uptake
VinFast’s seven-seater MPV, the Limo Green, designed for ride-hailing and premium transport services, also made significant gains. The model delivered 2,120 units in September, climbing to the top of its segment and highlighting the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions among fleet operators.
VinFast Eyes Strong Finish for 2025
With the final quarter ahead—traditionally the peak season for automobile sales—VinFast is ramping up production capacity across its Hai Phong and Ha Tinh manufacturing complexes. The company expects to further strengthen its record-setting momentum by year-end, potentially surpassing all previous benchmarks in Vietnam’s auto market.
Leadership Remarks
Commenting on this historic achievement, Ms Duong Thi Thu Trang, Global Deputy CEO of Sales and Marketing at VinFast, said:
“Behind the figure of more than 100,000 vehicles are millions of acts of trust and support from our customers. We are deeply grateful for their confidence and remain committed to delivering ever greater value, thereby accelerating Vietnam’s green transition.”
EV Revolution Gains Pace in Vietnam
VinFast’s achievement marks a turning point for Vietnam’s automotive landscape, as it becomes the first homegrown automaker to surpass global brands in both gasoline and electric segments. The success reflects not only VinFast’s strong brand equity but also the nation’s growing embrace of electric mobility as a mainstream transportation choice.
Industry experts believe this milestone signifies Vietnam’s rising potential as a key EV hub in Asia, aligning with global efforts toward decarbonisation and sustainable growth.
As VinFast continues to break records, its performance stands as a powerful testament to Vietnam’s innovation, self-reliance, and leadership in shaping the future of green mobility.
