VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), a joint venture of Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jio-bp Pulse to enhance charging access for electric commercial vehicles across India.

The partnership will provide all Eicher Trucks and Buses’ EV customers seamless access to Jio-bp’s network of over 6,000 charging points, the country’s largest DC fast-charging footprint. Covering urban centres, highways, and purpose-built EV hubs, the infrastructure is designed to support a wide range of commercial vehicles.

Jio-bp, a fuel retail joint venture of Reliance Industries and bp, operates one of India’s fastest-growing EV charging networks under its Jio-bp Pulse brand. Through the MoU, Jio-bp will offer customised charging solutions, while VECV will contribute its expertise in electric truck and bus technologies, ensuring solutions meet diverse fleet requirements.

A key highlight of the agreement is the integration of Jio-bp’s charging network into the My Eicher fleet management app. This will enable fleet operators to view real-time charger availability, optimising vehicle utilisation and improving operational efficiency—addressing a major concern in EV adoption.

Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO of VECV, said the collaboration marks a milestone in India’s shift towards zero-emission logistics. “By integrating Jio-bp pulse’s extensive charging network into our My Eicher app, we are removing a critical barrier to EV adoption for fleets,” he noted.

Sarthak Behuria, Chairman of Jio-bp, emphasised that the partnership strengthens India’s mobility transformation. “Electric mobility is a cornerstone of this transition, and this collaboration plays a pivotal role in electrifying trucking and accelerating EV adoption,” he said.

Looking ahead, the two companies also plan to evaluate depot-level charging and tailor-made infrastructure projects for large EV fleets and bus operations, paving the way for further agreements in the future.

The collaboration represents a significant boost to India’s commercial EV ecosystem, enabling fleet operators to confidently adopt clean, sustainable mobility solutions at scale.
