Planning to implement the electric vehicle policy, Uttar Pradesh government has been working to establish the state as a leader for electric vehicles in India.

electric vehicles According to a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office, the Yogi Government has given the Urban Development Department the responsibility to set up EV charging stations as per the policy.

The department has also started the process to extend the Comprehensive Electric Mobility Plan to 17 cities that have municipal corporations, as soon as it is possible, under the Smart City Mission.

It added that a working group was also formed under the direction of the Urban Development Department to accelerate the development of charging infrastructure.

Amrit Abhijat, Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department has issued instructions that will see action taken under the rules of the charging stations approved under the EV Policy by the nodal organization.

According to the EV Policy, government entities will be able to lease land for 10 years for charging stations.

The revenue-sharing model, as prescribed by the Ministry of Power, will form the basis of the charging infrastructure. The statement stated that the lease period, revenue-sharing rate, and other parameters prescribed will be updated periodically.

Similarly, the land will also be leased to private entities for ten years to set up charging stations using an equitable revenue-sharing model. The bidding parameters will be based on the lowest service fee that a firm has quoted in its tender application form.

This will ensure that the consumers pay the minimum charging fees. It said that private entities would be required to adhere to other guidelines, which will be notified from time to time by the ministries of power and housing and urban affairs.

The state government, in coordination with NITI Aayog as well as the Asian Development Bank, is preparing a Comprehensive Electric Mobility Plan for Lucknow.

The scheme will be implemented as quickly as possible in the 17 cities that were selected for the Smart City Mission. It will then be extended to include other cities. The development of charging stations will take place along strategic routes while the transport system is changed.

This plan will also allow local authorities and other government agencies to easily identify land parcels and places for charging infrastructure construction. CEMP will also develop a portal that provides all the necessary information about EV adoption, such as charging station locations, green routes, etc. In all cities. The statement said that in the future, this program can be integrated into PM Gati Shakti Yojana.

According to the UP Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy, the Urban Development Department has formed a group of working people to accelerate the development of charging infrastructure. This group will be responsible for the implementation of the model by-laws, the regulation strategy, and the development of charging/swapping infrastructure in the state.
