Uno Minda Limited, a global tier-1 supplier of automotive systems and solutions, has intensified its nationwide crackdown on counterfeit spare parts with a series of coordinated raids that led to the seizure of 4,280 fake handlebar switches. Conducted in collaboration with state police forces and professional investigative agencies, these enforcement actions aim to safeguard consumer safety, protect brand integrity, and dismantle the supply chain of counterfeit products.
The most recent raid, carried out on August 28, 2025, in Sirsa, Haryana, targeted S.K. Traders, a major wholesaler operating in the Vishwakarma Mandir Auto Market. Following extensive field investigations in July, officials confirmed that the dealer was actively distributing counterfeit Uno Minda Starter Switches (SW-0686Z), co-branded with “Sarvi”. Authorities seized 2,740 fake switches valued at approximately ₹1.20 lakh, sending a strong message to counterfeiters in the region.
A company spokesperson stated,
“Counterfeit automotive parts pose a serious risk to vehicle safety and compromise the performance and reliability that Uno Minda products are known for. These raids underscore our unwavering commitment to protecting our customers and our brand. We are actively pursuing and dismantling these illicit operations, from manufacturers to distributors, to ensure that only genuine Uno Minda products reach the market.”
The Sirsa raid is part of Uno Minda’s broader FY 2025-26 anti-counterfeiting drive, which has already seen multiple enforcement actions across India:
-
July 12, 2025 – Patna, Bihar: 310 counterfeit handlebar switches seized from Sonu Graphics, a wholesaler-retailer in Gandhi Maidan.
-
August 8, 2025 – Guwahati, Assam: Raids across multiple locations resulted in the seizure of over 1,200 counterfeit handlebar switches. Key entities included Reliance Bullet Zone (300 seized), Rajdhani Enterprises (30 seized), and an unnamed godown in Tokabari (900 seized).
These operations were executed with the support of EIPR India Pvt. Ltd. and Nucleion Risk Consulting Pvt. Ltd., alongside respective state police forces. FIRs and reports are available for verification, underscoring the legal seriousness of the campaign.
Uno Minda has urged customers to remain vigilant, advising them to purchase only from authorised dealers to avoid counterfeit risks. The company reiterated its ongoing commitment to investing in anti-counterfeiting measures to protect its customers, business partners, and India’s automotive aftermarket.
