Electric two-wheelers may now use AC vehicle charging stations all over India due to Ultraviolette’s introduction of UVLYNC, a Type 2 charging interface. The system provides access to 100,000 Type 2 auto chargers and more than 4,000 AC charging stations across the country.

The interface fills a major infrastructure gap in India’s expanding electric vehicle market and is compatible with Ultraviolette’s F77 motorcycle. It will also be accessible to other electric two-wheeler brands in the nation. By utilizing the current network of vehicle charging stations, this initiative seeks to enable long-distance travel for users of electric two-wheelers.

“This solution expands charging possibilities and fosters greater confidence in embracing electric mobility by providing a universal interface,” stated Niraj Rajmohan, Ultraviolette’s co-founder and chief technology officer. The business intends for all owners of electric two-wheelers, regardless of brand, to have access to UVLYNC.

Ultraviolette has established itself in the premium sector of the Indian electric two-wheeler market since its 2022 launch with the F77 electric motorcycle. The company’s action coincides with the rapidly expanding electric vehicle market in India, where the government is promoting greater EV use through a number of programs and regulations.

One of the main obstacles to the adoption of electric vehicles in India has been the absence of extensive charging infrastructure, especially for two-wheelers, which make up the majority of the nation’s automobile market. In addition to supporting the government’s objective of boosting the use of electric vehicles in the upcoming years, this universal charging solution may help alleviate range anxiety among prospective EV customers.
