Ultraviolette Automotive has introduced a new battery subscription model aimed at promoting sustainable mobility and making electric motorcycles more affordable.
The company recently launched Battery Flex, a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program, in Bengaluru. Under the new model, customers can purchase the Ultraviolette X-47 starting at ₹1,49,000, while subscribing separately to the battery with a monthly plan beginning at ₹2,499.
According to the company, the model allows customers to pay for the motorcycle chassis upfront while financing the battery through a fixed monthly subscription fee. The initiative is expected to reduce the high initial cost of electric vehicles and encourage wider adoption.
Commenting on the launch, Narayan Subramaniam said the new pricing strategy will give riders access to advanced technology and performance at a lower entry cost. He added that operating costs starting from ₹2,499 per month are lower than the average spending on petrol for many riders.
The company said the Battery Flex program aims to redefine affordability in the electric motorcycle segment while supporting the shift toward sustainable transportation.
