According to reports, TVS will launch a brand-new electric scooter in India later this year around the holiday season (October to November) that falls below the iQube range.
This year, TVS Motor Company is developing a number of goods for the Indian market. The business is preparing a larger and more potent version (150cc) of the Ntorq scooter and will enter the middleweight adventure motorcycle market later this year with the RTX 300. We now know that a brand-new entry-level electric scooter is also being developed and would be available for purchase in the Indian market during the Diwali holiday (October–November) in 2025. For your information, TVS is one of the top three domestic brands of electric scooters.
We now know that the new TVS electric scooter will be positioned in the brand’s EV lineup beneath the iQube. The new, affordable e-scooter may cost as little as Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom). For those who are curious, the top-end trim with a 5.1 kWh battery pack costs Rs 2 lakh, while the 2.2 kWh model starts at Rs 1 lakh.
With a range of roughly 70–80 km on a single charge, the next TVS electric scooter is anticipated to contain a 2.2 kWh battery or even a smaller unit. Like the iQube, it will also use a hub-mounted motor from Bosch. Given its extremely low price, it is reasonable to presume that the e-scooter will have a straightforward appearance and minimal functionality.
The new electric scooter’s name is still unknown because the official introduction is still a few months away. However, some unconfirmed sources suggest that it might be called Jupiter EV since TVS might capitalise on the popularity of the “Jupiter” moniker. A CNG version of the Jupiter, which was shown in concept form during the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, is also available from the Hosur-based two-wheeler firm.
There are also rumours that it could be the XL moped’s all-electric variant. The brand’s recent decision to file patents for the names XL EV and E-XL has fuelled these rumours. These names could be used by TVS for the XL moped’s electric model. The XL100 is now the most reasonably priced two-wheeler with an internal combustion engine available in India. Therefore, it will be intriguing to see if TVS’s new electric offering is called Jupiter, XL, iQube, or something else entirely.
In 2020, TVS launched its electric line with the iQube scooter. With sales of about 20,000 units, the company topped the sales charts and became the leading brand of electric scooters in the Indian market in May 2025, some five years later. Its e2w lineup also includes the X electric scooter, whose deliveries began earlier this year after going on sale in August 2023.
