TSUYO Manufacturing Pvt Ltd has received approval from the Government of Karnataka to establish an integrated electric vehicle (EV) powertrain manufacturing and validation facility in Hubli‑Dharwad, with an investment of ₹250 crore.
The facility will be spread across 20 acres and will focus on producing critical EV components, including electric traction motors, motor controllers, power electronics, and complete drivetrain systems. The plant is designed to cater to multiple EV segments, from three-wheelers and passenger vehicles to commercial vehicles.
The project will be executed in two phases. The first phase will cover powertrains up to 250 kW and 650 V architectures, while the second phase will expand capacity to 1,100 kW and 850 V DC architectures, supporting larger commercial vehicles.
The plant is expected to generate over 500 jobs in engineering and technical fields such as motor design, drivetrain engineering, and power electronics. It will also include testing laboratories and an open test track for validation of EV powertrains under real-world conditions.
The approval comes after a Letter of Intent was signed with the Karnataka government at the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025. State agencies involved in supporting the project include Invest Karnataka, Karnataka Udyog Mitra, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, and the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board.
The plant is part of TSUYO’s plan to strengthen its presence in India’s growing EV market and contribute to the country’s push toward sustainable transportation.
