Tresa Motors has introduced its unique Permanent Magnet Synchronous Axial Flux Motor platform, the FLUX 350.

Tresa MotorsIn a field dominated by radial flux motors, Tresa’s Axial Flux Motors takes a leap forward with their unique configuration, where the magnetic flux flows axially.

This distinctive design, developed in-house over a meticulous 11-12-month period of simulations, research, and engineering, is poised to deliver a game-changing impact on the electric truck industry.

The FLUX 350 employs a stackable arrangement of stator and rotor discs, creating a compact and flattened design. This enables a remarkable torque-to-weight ratio and efficient power delivery, making them ideal for heavy-duty applications like electric trucks. The advantages over traditional radial flux motors include higher power density, improved cooling capabilities, and enhanced overall efficiency.

India’s EV sector has often relied on foreign expertise for key components, making Tresa Motors’ achievement all the more significant. “Our ambition is to make India a hub for cutting-edge technology and innovation,” said Rohan Shravan, Founder and CEO, Tresa Motors “By investing in the development of fundamental technologies like Axial Flux Motors, we aim to elevate India’s stature on the global stage and create a brighter future for our nation.”

Tresa Motors’ journey to creating the FLUX 350 was not without challenges. The team navigated through the intricate interplay of 100+ dependent and independent parameters through a customized integration of simulation software. This allowed them to design a motor that not only exceeded performance expectations but also addressed critical aspects of manufacturing feasibility.

Moreover, Tresa Motors’ determination to bolster local manufacturing was pivotal. Collaborating with precision manufacturers in Bangalore, renowned for their expertise driven by associations with entities like ISRO and major automobile companies, Tresa Motors overcame manufacturing hurdles that even led some big players in the industry to decline involvement.

The result was a motor that flawlessly integrated Neodymium magnets, offering higher magnetic flux, and a stator lamination stack that was a true engineering feat.

Tresa Motors’ relentless pursuit of excellence extended to stress-testing their creation. Their daring approach of intentionally pushing the motor to its limits revealed valuable insights. The subsequent refinements paved the way for the FLUX 350’s robustness and long-term reliability.

The FLUX 350 marks a pivotal step towards a sustainable, technologically advanced, and self-reliant EV industry in India.

As the company propels forward with its commitment to innovation and progress, it holds the promise of revolutionizing not just the electric truck industry, but also shaping the future of electric mobility in India and beyond.
