A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been struck by the Rajasthan Solar Association (RSA) and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, a division of Tata Motors, to advance EVs and solar energy use for EV charging in Rajasthan.

While purchasing a Tata EV, customers who have already built a solar power system at their residence or place of business will be eligible for an additional discount. In order to guarantee that qualified clients in Rajasthan can take advantage of the relevant discount, RSA will supervise the certification procedure. Additionally, the association will spread the word around the state about the advantages of TPEM’s electric car portfolio.

“With the dual benefits of affordable power and emission-free mobility, rooftop solar offers EV owners a unique opportunity,” stated Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles.

Nearly 30% of EV users currently use rooftop solar for home charging, while over 90% of EV users charge at home. EV users can successfully reduce gasoline expenses and enable real zero-cost mobility by utilizing this synergy. We have launched packages that include rooftop solar installations when buying our EVs as part of our efforts to advance EV infrastructure.

“As it combines solar power with EVs, this collaboration will mark a revolutionary step in Rajasthan’s electric vehicle consumption, representing a significant step in fostering green energy and reducing reliance on traditional fuels, marking a major milestone in Rajasthan’s journey towards a sustainable future,” stated Nitin Agarwal, CEO of the Rajasthan Solar Association.
