      Toyota Innova HyCross Now Introduced in 5 Variants

      Japanese automotive brand, Toyota has released the all-new Innova HyCross in India.

      Innova HyCrossThe Innova HyCross is completely new in many aspects such as its design, interiors, tech features, platform and powertrain options.

      It is manufactured at the company’s facility in Bidadi, near Bengaluru, with deliveries to commence in January next year. Customers can now also book the car by paying a token amount of Rs 50,000.

      The Innova HyCross has a longer, wider, bolder and SUV-ish design compared to the Innova Crysta. It features a large trapezoidal grille up front with slim LED headlamps on either side.

      The front bumper gets triangular vents with slim LED daytime running lights.

      The fog lamps are positioned on the lower section, on either side of the air dam. The rear features wraparound tail lamps with a chrome strip in the centre, a bold bumper and a roof spoiler.

      The HyCross is based on the TNGA-C monocoque architecture and is available with a pure petrol, and petrol-hybrid powertrain. The 2.0-litre petrol unit puts out 172 bhp and 20 kgm of peak torque.

      The strong-hybrid version uses a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with Toyota’s 5th-gen strong-hybrid tech for a combined output of 183 bhp. Both engines are offered with a CVT that drives the front axle and the strong-hybrid version is claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of 21.1 kpl.

      The Innova HyCross gets a dual-tone interior with either a 7-seat or 8-seat configuration. It gets a 3-spoke steering wheel and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

      The centre console features a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, a gear shifter, an electronic parking brake and other useful functions.

      The Innova HyCross will be offered in five variants. Higher-end variants will include paddle shifters, ventilated front seats, multi-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a powered tailgate and a panoramic sunroof.

      The MPV will also get the ‘Toyota Safety Sense’ suite which includes advanced driver assistance features.

      These include lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert and a pre-collision system.
