ThunderPlus, a full-stack EV charging and energy solutions provider, to create unified energy destinations that offer both battery swapping and charging solutions announced a strategic partnership with Indofast Energy, India’s leading battery-swapping solutions provider. This collaboration will see Indofast Energy deploy its advanced battery swapping stations within Thunder Plus EVcharging hubs, starting with Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi NCR. This partnership is a pivotal step towards accelerating India’s electric mobility adoption and providing comprehensive, future-ready energy solutions for a diverse range of electric vehicles.
The initial phase of this rollout will focus on key metropolitan areas, including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi NCR with plans to scale the integrated services across more than 250 locations nationwide. Under this collaboration, Indofast Energy will leverage the existing space and power infrastructure at Thunder Plus locations to establish its battery swapping stations. This synergy creates a one-stop energy solution for a diverse range of electric vehicles, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and commercial fleets, which depend on maximum uptime and operational efficiency. By co-locating these services, the partnership offers unparalleled convenience and flexibility, effectively eliminating range anxiety and minimizing downtime for gig economy workers and fleet operators.
“India does not need parallel EV solutions, it needs integrated energy ecosystems. At ThunderPlus, we are building infrastructure not just for today’s EVs, but for the next decade of mobility. Partnering with Indofast Energy allows us to seamlessly integrate fast charging with battery swapping across our national network. Starting with Hyderabad and scaling across 250+ locations, this partnership significantly improves convenience, uptime, and choice for EV users and fleet operators. Our joint expansion reflects a larger shift where mobility destinations become energy-agnostic, future-ready, and inclusive of electric mobility,” said Rajeev YSR, ED and CEO, ThunderPlus.
Speaking on this partnership, Anant Badjatya, CEO, Indofast Energy said, “This strategic collaboration with ThunderPlus is a powerful step in moving beyond the ‘charging versus swapping’ debate to build what customers truly need: a single, reliable destination for all their energy requirements. By co-locating our two-minute battery swaps within ThunderPlus’s charging hubs, we are maximizing convenience and ensuring that EV drivers have the flexibility and choice they need to keep moving without interruption. Together, we are not just building infrastructure; we are designing a smarter, more integrated energy network that will serve as the backbone for India’s electric future.”
The partnership reflects a broader industry shift toward integrated, customer-centric EV infrastructure and reinforces both organizations’ commitment to building a resilient and scalable electric mobility ecosystem across India.
