ThunderPlus has further strengthened the region’s EV infrastructure with the inauguration of a new GMR EV Public Charging Station at the GMR Filling Station in Patancheru, Hyderabad as their new Franchise. The facility was formally inaugurated by Patancheru MLA Shri Gudem Mahipal Reddy, marking another significant step towards accelerating EV adoption in Telangana.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Hon’ble MLA underscored that electric mobility represents the future of transportation, especially in fast-growing constituencies like Patancheru. He highlighted the increasing adoption of electric vehicles in the region and noted that both the Central and State Governments are actively promoting EV usage through policy support and incentives. Encouraging youth participation, he also pointed to EV charging infrastructure as a promising avenue for sustainable self-employment and entrepreneurship.

The newly launched public charging station is designed to cater to a wide spectrum of EV users, including 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and 4-wheelers. The facility is equipped with a 60 kW DC fast charger with two charging guns, a 7.4 kW AC charger with one charging gun, and two 3.3 kW chargers, enabling multiple vehicles to charge simultaneously with speed and convenience.

Addressing the gathering, Rajeev YSR, ED and CEO of ThunderPlus, said, “The inauguration of the GMR EV Public Charging Station marks another important milestone in ThunderPlus’ franchise-led growth journey. Our Minimum Business Guarantee program, which assures predictable and guaranteed returns, continues to fuel the rapid expansion of our franchise network across the country.

Each new franchise strengthens our national footprint and brings us closer to our vision of building a truly accessible, reliable, and nationwide EV charging network. By partnering with fuel station owners, entrepreneurs, and landowners, we are transforming conventional infrastructure into future-ready clean energy hubs.

Fuel stations, with their prime locations, high footfall, and operational readiness, are uniquely positioned to become the backbone of India’s EV charging infrastructure. Through our low-capital, fast-deployment franchise model, we are enabling partners to participate in the electric mobility transition while generating strong, sustainable returns. This expansion not only accelerates EV adoption but also creates local employment and scalable business opportunities, making electric mobility practical for everyday India.”

      — Rajeev YSR, CEO, ThunderPlus

This newly inaugurated facility marks ThunderPlus’ seventh EV charging franchise, reinforcing the company’s franchise-led expansion model. ThunderPlus is currently on a mission to establish 100 EV charging franchises over the next six months, aimed at accelerating EV adoption while empowering entrepreneurs and landowners with sustainable business opportunities.

Through this aggressive expansion strategy, ThunderPlus continues to build a robust, nationwide EV charging network, supporting clean mobility, economic growth, and long-term environmental sustainability.
