Andhra Pradesh has taken a major step toward accelerating its electric mobility vision by signing a ₹515 crore agreement with a consortium led by ThunderPlus, along with ETO Motors and Roqit. The strategic partnership aims to build a nationwide-grade electric mobility and charging network covering key urban centers and highways across the state.
According to officials, the initiative will focus on developing a comprehensive EV ecosystem that includes fast-charging stations, ultra-fast highway chargers, multi-modal electric fleets, and an integrated digital ticketing system. ThunderPlus will spearhead the infrastructure rollout by installing 120 kW fast chargers every 25 km and 1 MW ultra-fast chargers every 100 km, enabling faster EV turnaround and long-distance electric travel across Andhra Pradesh’s major corridors.
Supporting the charging backbone, ETO Motors will deploy electric three-wheelers and multi-modal mobility fleets to serve urban and semi-urban zones. Meanwhile, Roqit will develop a unified digital mobility platform that enables single-ticket access across various EV modes, improving commuter convenience and boosting public usage.
The first phase of the project will focus on two major clusters—Amaravati Capital Region, covering Vijayawada, Amaravati, and Guntur, and the Visakhapatnam Urban Region, including Dwarakanagar, NAD Junction, and Simhachalam. These high-density areas are expected to benefit immediately from the introduction of EV fleets, fast-charging stations, and real-time mobility solutions.
State officials highlighted that the project is expected to generate over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, helping boost employment across EV operations, charging station maintenance, digital services, and customer support. The initiative also aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s broader sustainability and clean-energy goals, as the state pushes for reduced emissions and modernized transport infrastructure.
With this ambitious investment and multi-partner collaboration, Andhra Pradesh is positioning itself as one of India’s fastest-growing EV-ready states, aiming to build a scalable, future-driven mobility ecosystem that supports both consumers and businesses.
