In a significant push towards sustainable mobility and clean transportation, Thunderplus, a leading electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Tata Motors to deploy 5,000 EV charging stations for small commercial vehicles (SCVs) across tier 2 and tier 3 cities in India.

This ambitious initiative will cover major states including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, West Bengal, Bihar, and Maharashtra, focusing on strategically located logistics hubs to support fleet operators. By enhancing charging accessibility, the project aims to boost operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and unlock higher earning potential for commercial vehicle owners, especially in last-mile delivery and urban logistics sectors.

Fast-Charging Infrastructure for India’s Growing EV Fleet

The new charging stations will be equipped with fast-charging capabilities and integrated digital solutions, enabling seamless energy management and quick turnaround for SCVs. This infrastructure expansion aligns with Tata Motors’ vision of electrifying its commercial vehicle portfolio while supporting India’s carbon reduction and electric mobility goals.

      Statements from Leadership

      Rajeev YSR, CEO, Thunderplus, said:

“We are proud to collaborate with Tata Motors in driving the adoption of electric small commercial vehicles across India. This partnership marks a pivotal step in building a robust and accessible charging ecosystem that empowers businesses to transition to cleaner mobility solutions.”

The collaboration highlights the growing synergy between EV manufacturers and charging solution providers, emphasizing scalable, reliable, and convenient charging networks as critical enablers of India’s EV adoption.

      Driving India’s Clean Mobility Transition

With the rollout of 5,000 stations, Thunderplus and Tata Motors aim to accelerate the adoption of electric SCVs, providing fleet operators with the confidence to transition from diesel-based vehicles to zero-emission electric alternatives. This initiative also reinforces India’s broader goal of promoting sustainable logistics, reducing urban pollution, and enabling cost-effective last-mile delivery solutions.

The partnership is expected to have a transformational impact on India’s commercial EV sector, setting a benchmark for charging infrastructure deployment, fleet electrification, and sustainable urban mobility.
