TFA Motorsport, the UAE-based motorsport outfit, has unveiled a significant development ahead of its campaign in the Oman International Drift Championship (OIDC). The team has confirmed that legendary Japanese drifter Daigo Saito will compete with them in Rounds 2 and 3 of the championship.
A true icon of the sport, Saito brings unparalleled experience and prestige to the lineup. Originally from Saitama, Japan, the 37-year-old made history as the only driver to secure championship victories in both the D1 Grand Prix series in Japan and Formula DRIFT in the United States. Celebrated for his aggressive driving style and technical ingenuity, Saito is also known for building and refining his own cars at his Fat Five Racing workshop.
The upcoming rounds will mark Saito’s first competitive appearance in Oman since 2018, when his performances left a lasting impression on local fans. By bringing him on board, TFA Motorsport strengthens its competitive edge while reinforcing its commitment to merging world-class drifting pedigree with the rapidly growing motorsport culture of the Middle East.
The TFA Motorsport Team
Alongside Saito, TFA Motorsport’s professional drifting lineup features an impressive mix of established and rising talent, including Kevin Piskolty, AndriusVasiliauskas, Oleksii Holovnia, and Ibrahim El Khawli. Each driver brings a distinct driving style and competitive edge, earning recognition among drifting enthusiasts across the globe. Through this diverse roster, TFA Motorsport continues to balance international expertise with regional talent, reinforcing its ambition to grow and compete at the highest levels of the sport.
The Machine: Saito’s Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06
For the upcoming championship, Saito will pilot his meticulously self-built Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06. More than just a competition car, the Corvette reflects Saito’s deep engineering expertise and has been further refined with the backing of TFA Motorsport. Its ultra-lightweight construction is complemented by a full Kevlar wide-body kit, delivering both visual impact and enhanced on-track performance.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated V8 producing over 800 horsepower, perfectly suited to Saito’s famously aggressive and precise drifting style. The car is also equipped with a custom 65-degree steering lock, enabling extreme angles and giving Saito the freedom to push the technical limits of modern drift performance.
As one TFA Motorsport representative put it:
“Bringing Daigo Saito into our lineup is a statement. He represents everything we stand for—exceptional skill and an uncompromising commitment to the show. Pairing a driver of his caliber with our rising talent marks a defining moment for the team.”
Founded in 2025, TFA Motorsport was created to showcase the rapidly growing motorsport scene in the Middle East. Its roster blends local drivers with experienced international names, reflecting a new generation of competition built on passion, precision, and a deep respect for the art of drifting.
With the Oman International Drift Championship approaching, attention is firmly on TFA Motorsport. The challenge is set, the ambition is clear, and the fight for a podium finish is about to begin.
