The Model Y has been introduced, marking Tesla’s official arrival in India. For the Long Range model, prices start at Rs 59.89 lakh and go up to Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom). For an extra Rs 6 lakh, Tesla’s Full-Self Driving (FSD) technology is also available here.
Even while the Model Y has many innovative features, Tesla’s extensive network of Superchargers—which is expanding to India—is what actually makes the company stand out internationally.
Long-distance EV travel is made simple and worry-free in international markets like the US and Europe thanks to Tesla’s Superchargers. Now that Tesla has confirmed its first Supercharger installations in India on its official website, Indian buyers interested in the Model Y will be relieved.
Eight sites are currently planned, including four in Mumbai and four in the Delhi-NCR area. In Delhi-NCR, Tesla Superchargers will be brought up at Aerocity, Saket, Noida, and Gurugram. Thane, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Lower Parel, and Navi Mumbai will all be served by the network in Mumbai.
As Tesla’s presence in India increases, it is anticipated that it will further develop this network. In order to connect their Teslas to India’s current CCS Type-2 fast chargers, owners in other cities will currently need to use home charging or NACS adapters.
