In Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, a Tesla Model 3 became trapped on a railway track and was struck, albeit slightly, by a train. “Self-driving mode”, according to the driver.
A Tesla Model 3 became stranded on the tracks after evading a railroad track barrier close to South Hull Street and Columbia Avenue, according to Berks County fire warnings.
A train struck the automobile, apparently breaking off the side mirror, but the driver managed to get out.
While emergency services attempted to use a crane to remove the Model 3 from the rails, the fire commissioner issued an order to halt all train activity.
After completing the recovery, Spitlers Garage & Towing posted a few images to Facebook.
According to reports, the Tesla was in “self-driving mode” when it became trapped on the railway tracks.
With software upgrades, Tesla says all of its cars manufactured after 2016 will be able to drive themselves without a driver, but this hasn’t happened yet.
Rather, for up to $15,000, Tesla has been offering a “Full Self-Driving” (FSD) package that necessitates the driver’s ongoing supervision of the vehicle, with the driver always being in charge of the vehicle.
In certain cases, drivers of Teslas have acted recklessly and then blamed the Full Self-Driving (FSD) features for it.
Conversely, there have been times when FSD has attempted to get beyond construction-related obstacles. In this instance, it might have attempted to do so here before getting apprehended.
