Tesla has increased the price of its most-expensive Cybertruck pickup truck by $15,000 in the U.S., raising the cost of the Cyberbeast variant to $114,990, even as sales remain below expectations and recalls continue to affect deliveries. The price hike coincides with the introduction of a new “Luxe Package”, which includes Supervised Full Self-Driving and free access to Tesla’s Supercharger network. Prices of other Cybertruck models remain unchanged.
The Cybertruck’s pricing now stands well above CEO Elon Musk’s 2019 target of roughly $40,000, and even exceeds the $60,990 base model launched in late 2023 by nearly double. This positions Tesla’s top-tier pickup well above competing models such as the Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevrolet Silverado EV, which offer lower entry prices on certain trims.
Tesla has occasionally offered discounts of around $10,000 on some inventory units to stimulate demand. Although Musk is confident that production could hit 125,000 units annually, upscaling to 250,000 in 2025, the Cybertruck is falling short of previous commitments. Recalls, product quality issues, and late deliveries have hurt the early sales, which, cumulatively, are likely short of its produced capacity.
The March 2025 recall, reviewed about 46,000 cars from the period between November 2023, and February 2025. The Cybertruck’s current challenges to ramp up production continue. Analysts say the truck’s underperformance and rising prices may make it difficult for Tesla to sustain demand against lower-priced rivals in the U.S. EV pickup market.
