Tata Motors has confirmed that the much-anticipated Sierra EV will be launched by the second quarter of 2026, further strengthening the company’s growing electric vehicle portfolio. The electric SUV will be offered in both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations, making it only the second Tata EV after the Harrier EV to feature dual drivetrain options.
The Sierra EV may also adopt Tata’s integrated drive unit technology, similar to what is seen in the Punch EV. This system combines the motor and key ancillary components into a single compact housing, improving packaging efficiency and helping control costs. If implemented, this approach could enable Tata to price the Sierra EV competitively against rivals such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, and Mahindra BE 6.
In terms of design, the Sierra EV will visually differ from its ICE counterpart with a sealed-off front fascia finished in body colour and subtle bumper revisions. Inside, it is expected to feature a three-screen layout comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch passenger display. Additional expected features include a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, premium audio, and multiple drive modes.
