A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by Magna Yuma Private Limited and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), a significant power utility that serves almost 9 million people in North Delhi, to install EV battery swapping stations throughout its service areas.
According to the agreement, Magna Yuma will be in charge of planning, acquiring, setting up, and maintaining the battery-swapping infrastructure, while Tata Power-DDL will supply a specific area within its substations. Shalimar Bagh Facility Centre Grid and Badli Grid will host the first two stations.
Senior executives from both businesses, including Mr. Dwijadas Basak, CEO of Tata Power-DDL, and important figures like Ms. Kiran Gupta, Mr. Praveen Agrawal, Mr. Raj Kumar Rastogi, and Mr. Surender Singh, were present when the Memorandum of Understanding was formally signed. Magna Yuma was represented by Mr. Harshal Gupta, Lead-Public Policy & Government Affairs, and Mr. Abhilash Kumar, Lead Business Head.
With a focus on commercial electric two- and three-wheelers that fuel the city’s expanding gig and delivery economy, the partnership aims to strengthen Delhi’s EV ecosystem. By encouraging environmentally friendly transport, lowering emissions, and decreasing dependency on traditional charging techniques, the project also supports Delhi’s clean mobility objectives.
“Tata Power-DDL is pleased to partner with Magna Yuma in expanding the battery-swapping network in Delhi,” said CEO Dwijadas Basak. “This initiative is aligned with our commitment to promote sustainable mobility and create socio-economic opportunities for the city’s youth.”
Additionally, the partnership is anticipated to promote more effective, scalable shared e-mobility models throughout the capital and discourage power theft.
