Tata Motors has partnered with mobile charging solutions provider HopCharge to introduce on‑demand doorstep electric vehicle (EV) charging services across the National Capital Region (NCR). The initiative is aimed at addressing charging infrastructure challenges faced by urban EV owners who lack access to dedicated parking or fixed home chargers.
Under the partnership, HopCharge will deploy a fleet of mobile fast‑charging vans that can be summoned to an owner’s location via a booking system. Tata EV customers in Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad and surrounding areas can schedule charging sessions at their home or workplace, reducing the need to travel to public charging stations.
To encourage adoption, Tata is offering subscription plans through the programme, including options that provide a set number of fast‑charging sessions and additional “RescueCharge” top‑ups each month. The service is designed to help alleviate “charging anxiety” for EV buyers in dense urban settings where installing private charging infrastructure is often difficult or restricted.
With EV adoption growing rapidly in India, doorstep charging represents a convenience‑led solution aimed at improving the ownership experience and encouraging wider uptake of electric vehicles in metropolitan areas.
