Tata Motors has launched the 2026 Tata Punch EV facelift in India, marking the first major update to its popular electric micro‑SUV since its debut. The refreshed model brings styling enhancements, technology upgrades and feature additions while retaining its core EV powertrain and positioning in the competitive entry‑level electric vehicle segment.
Design and Style Updates
The Punch EV facelift features subtle yet noticeable visual changes aimed at modernising its look:
Cleaner front fascia with sealed grille
Full‑width LED light strip linking daytime running lights
Revised bumpers and new aero‑style alloy wheels
New dual‑tone colour options to enhance visual appeal
These aesthetic tweaks bring the Punch EV closer in design language to newer Tata EVs while maintaining its distinctive compact SUV character.
Battery, Range and Performance
Tata Motors has continued with the same core battery options as the pre‑facelift model:
25 kWh battery pack — delivers a claimed range of around 265 km to 315 km depending on test cycle and configuration.
35 kWh battery pack — offers a claimed range up to 421 km under MIDC certification.
The facelift is not confirmed to introduce a larger battery pack at launch, although industry reports and teasers suggest Tata may consider a 40–45 kWh option in future updates to further extend range.
Charging and Technology
The updated Punch EV continues to support both home charging and DC fast charging, allowing rapid replenishment for longer drives. It is expected to charge from about 10% to 80% in under an hour using a fast charger. Features such as:
Large touchscreen infotainment system
Connected car tech with OTA updates
Digital instrument cluster
Ventilated seats and 360° camera (expected in higher trims)
are either retained or improved to keep the model competitive in its segment.
Expected Pricing and Market Position
According to industry estimates, the facelifted Punch EV is expected to be priced slightly higher than the outgoing version, with ex‑showroom figures likely in the ₹10 lakh to ₹15 lakh range depending on the variant and battery configuration. This positions the Punch EV facelift as a strong contender in the sub‑₹15 lakh electric SUV space.
The refreshed model aims to broaden Tata Motors’ appeal in India’s rapidly growing EV market, offering buyers a more stylish, feature‑rich and practical electric vehicle option.
