Tata Motors has officially commenced deliveries of the much-anticipated Tata Harrier EV across India, marking a major milestone in the company’s electric vehicle (EV) journey. Customers in metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai began receiving their vehicles earlier this week, with more deliveries expected in tier-II and tier-III cities in the coming days.
Unveiled earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the Harrier EV is the first all-electric SUV in the D-segment from Tata’s EV lineup. Built on Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture, it promises robust performance, modern features, and significantly extended range compared to earlier models. The electric SUV boasts a range of up to 500 km on a single charge and supports fast-charging capabilities that can replenish 80% of the battery in under 60 minutes.
The Harrier EV is equipped with an all-wheel-drive option, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), a panoramic sunroof, and the latest infotainment setup powered by Tata’s in-house software. It also features vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging support, setting a new benchmark for electric SUVs in India.
Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing, Sales, and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, stated, “The Tata Harrier EV represents a new era in premium electric mobility. We’re proud to begin deliveries and are committed to expanding the EV ecosystem across the country.”
Tata Motors already leads the Indian EV passenger vehicle market with models like the Nexon EV and Punch EV. With the Harrier EV now in customer hands, Tata aims to strengthen its hold on the premium EV SUV segment and accelerate the transition to clean mobility in India.
