In a major step toward strengthening India’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, TATA.ev, the country’s largest four-wheeler EV manufacturer, has inaugurated 14 state-of-the-art TATA.ev MegaChargers across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in partnership with Voltran. These fully manned EV charging hubs are the first of their kind in India, designed to replicate the ease, reliability, and service experience of traditional fuel stations—but for the electric era.

This development significantly enhances TATA.ev’s national charging network, taking the total number of operational TATA.ev MegaCharger sites to over 70 nationwide. The rollout marks another milestone under TATA.ev’s “Open Collaboration 2.0” initiative, a framework that promotes partnerships with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) to create robust high-speed EV charging corridors across the country.

India’s First 24/7 Manned EV Charging Hubs

The newly launched MegaChargers are strategically located along key highways and intercity routes in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These charging hubs are staffed round-the-clock by trained marshals, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for EV owners. The concept is designed to closely mirror the familiar petrol refuelling model while integrating digital payment flexibility and convenience tailored for EV users.

The partnership aims to address two key challenges in India’s EV adoption journey — range anxiety and charging reliability. By offering high-speed charging, on-ground assistance, and accessible payment modes including cash, card, and UPI, the initiative seeks to make EV ownership more practical and mainstream.

      TATA.ev’s Expanding Charging Ecosystem

With this inauguration, TATA.ev continues its mission to accelerate EV adoption through large-scale infrastructure deployment. Under its long-term roadmap, the company plans to introduce over 400,000 charging points across India by 2027, including 500 TATA.ev MegaChargers. These efforts are expected to enable truly seamless intercity EV travel, strengthening the brand’s position as a pioneer in India’s sustainable mobility transformation.

Speaking about the milestone, Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., said:

“As the EV revolution gains momentum, accessible and reliable charging infrastructure is key to driving consumer confidence. Through our partnership with Voltran, we are proud to introduce 14 manned TATA.ev MegaChargers across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These 24/7 staffed charging stations ensure fast, reliable, and fuel station-like convenience, empowering EV owners to travel freely across major routes in southern India.”

      Voltran’s Vision for User-Centric Charging

Raja Sekhar Upputuri, CEO of Voltran, echoed the sentiment, adding:

“We’re thrilled to partner with TATA.ev to establish co-branded TATA.ev x Voltran MegaCharger Stations across major highways. These hubs redefine EV charging by offering cashless and app-free payment options, air-conditioned lounges, clean washrooms, and food outlets for maximum customer comfort. Together, we are reimagining the future of EV charging in India — fast, reliable, and super convenient.”

Driving the Future of Electric Mobility

The TATA.ev x Voltran MegaChargers signify a new benchmark in India’s EV charging landscape. By combining reliability, human assistance, and user comfort, the initiative creates a bridge between the traditional refuelling experience and the future of electric mobility. As TATA.ev continues to expand its footprint, the brand is accelerating India’s transition toward sustainable, convenient, and accessible electric travel.
