Tata.ev, the electric mobility arm of Tata Motors, has partnered with Shell to expand India’s fast-charging network with 21 new Mega Charging Hubs across key cities and strategic transport corridors. The move aims to strengthen long-distance and urban EV charging as adoption rises nationwide.
The new hubs will be developed in western and southern India, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Each hub will feature 120 kW fast chargers, allowing compatible EVs to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes, catering to both private owners and commercial fleet operators.
Bengaluru will host the largest cluster, with nine new sites, while Chennai will get five hubs. Additional locations are planned along the Mangalore–Mysuru corridor, in Vadodara, and in Pune’s expanding suburban areas. These hubs aim to provide reliable high-speed charging along major commuter and intercity routes.
Each location will have on-site staff to assist customers and offer access to Shell Select and Deli2go retail outlets. Tata EV drivers will benefit from up to 25% discounts on charging tariffs and special promotions on food and beverages.
With these additions, the Tata.ev Mega Charger network will grow to 130 hubs nationwide, with plans to reach 500 hubs and 400,000 charging points by 2027 as part of the company’s broader electrification strategy.
