The lifetime warranty means 15 years from the date the car is first registered with the RTO, as per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988

Recently, Tata Motors offered a lifetime warranty on the battery for the recently released 2025 Tata Harrier EV, adding even more peace of mind. The Tata Curvv EV and Tata Nexon EV (45 kWh version) will soon be eligible for the same lifetime battery guarantee from the automaker. Similar to the Harrier EV, it is being offered for an unlimited number of km to the first owner.

Even early adopters benefit from this enhanced warranty, which is also applicable to vehicles that have been sold since launch. So let’s examine the terms and conditions in more depth right now:

      More About The Lifetime Warranty

Tata Nexon EV Tata Curvv EV
First Registration Lifetime / Unlimited km Lifetime / Unlimited km
Second Registration (whichever occurs first) 8 years or 1.6 lakh km 8 years or 1.6 lakh km
      • For the second owner, the Curvv EV and Nexon EV have a reduced warranty that gives them peace of mind for eight years or 1.6 lakh kilometres. Similarly, the Harrier EV has a 10-year or 2-lakh-kilometre warranty, whichever comes first.
      • Only private purchasers or employees who register their vehicles under business incentive programmes are eligible for the lifetime warranty.

      • The lifetime guarantee does not apply to Tata automobiles used for business, such as fleet vehicles, demo cars, taxis, and test-drive units.

      • Complete coverage will only be granted to the first registered owner. In order to obtain a reduced warranty, the second owner of the vehicle must notify an authorised dealership.

      • The vehicle must be serviced at authorised Tata service centres and adhere to the suggested service schedule in order for current owners to benefit from the lifetime guarantee.

      • There must be no physical damage or tampering with the battery. Tata replenishes its energy capacity to 80% or to the pre-repair state of health, whichever is higher, if it needs to be repaired or replaced.

      • Only if the owner fulfils all requirements does the warranty remain in effect for the first 15 years.

A 45 kWh battery pack is shared between the Nexon EV and the Tata Curvv EV. The following are the two EVs’ precise specifications:

Model Tata Curvv EV Tata Nexon EV
Battery Pack 45 kWh 55 kWh 30 kWh (Not Applicable For Lifetime Warranty) 45 kWh
      Power 150 PS 167 PS 130 PS 145 PS

      Price & Rivals

The following are the costs of the Tata Nexon EV and Curvv EV:

Tata Nexon EV Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 16.99 lakh
Tata Curvv EV Rs 17.49 lakh to Rs 21.99 lakh

While the Tata Curvv EV competes with the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, and Mahindra BE 6, the Tata Nexon EV faces off against the Mahindra XUV400 EV and MG Windsor EV.
