Suzuki R&D Center India Private Limited (SRDI), a division of Suzuki Motor Corporation, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Automobile Centre of Excellence (iACE) in a major move to address societal challenges and advance sustainable mobility. Under the name “Project VmeM (Versatile micro e-Mobility),” the partnership makes use of Suzuki’s creative platform concept to create adaptable and sustainable micro electric mobility solutions.

In a ceremony attended by notable dignitaries such as Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Shizuoka Governor Yasutomo Suzuki, Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibhaben Rakeshkumar Jain, Hamamatsu Mayor Yusuke Nakano, and Suzuki Motor Corporation President Toshihiro Suzuki, iACE Chairman and Gujarat Industries Commissioner Sandip J. Sagale and SRDI Executive Director Mayur Shah signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

Gujarat-based iACE is well known for encouraging learning, creativity, and skill development in both students and business professionals. In order to investigate novel usage strategies and develop sustainable business models, the partnership seeks to combine Suzuki’s experience with cutting-edge inventions from startups with its knowledge of vehicle production technology.

Suzuki intends to use Project VmeM to address societal issues in India and support the growth of local communities and a sustainable future by utilizing its Versatile micro e-Mobility Platform. Suzuki’s goal of becoming a “lifestyle infrastructure company” is in line with this program, which also shows the corporation’s dedication to social responsibility and innovation.

The alliance emphasizes how crucial cross-sector cooperation is becoming in advancing solutions for urgent global issues like community development, sustainability, and urban transportation.
