Suzuki has been absent from the electric scooter market for a while, but with the introduction of the Access electric scooter later this year, it appears that the day will come. Suzuki intends to introduce it in the third quarter of 2024.

In Japan, Maruti Suzuki engineers have collaborated on the development of the anticipated e-Access. It has tested the e-Burgman in India in the past, but e-Access is reportedly set to make its premiere first. With the success of its gasoline-powered Access 125 scooter, Suzuki plans to enter the electric scooter industry by leveraging its well-known brand.

We anticipate that the electric Access and Burgman will share the same platform as their gasoline-powered counterparts. Therefore, there shouldn’t be a significant gap between the electric Access and Burgman launches.

Details on the motor capacity, battery life, and range are currently unavailable. On the other hand, it is anticipated that the e-Access would operate about like a 125cc scooter. To keep expenses down, Maruti won’t include any glitzy extras like a TFT display.

Maruti Suzuki is keeping a close eye on Yamaha and Honda as they are also said to be readying their first electric scooters for the Indian market. The company will announce the launch date of the e-Access based on what its rivals’ launch plans are concerning their products.
