For the first time, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL), one of the top scooter manufacturers in India, is growing its business to include electric scooters. Earlier this year, at the 2025 Auto Expo, the business unveiled e-Access, or Access Electric as it is more generally known. It was the company’s first electric scooter for India.
As we move forward to May 2025, Suzuki has started manufacturing the e-Access, their first electric scooter. The first unit came off the assembly line at SMIPL’s Gurgaon, Haryana, manufacturing plant. This confirms Suzuki’s move towards multi-pathway solutions and signifies the company’s debut into the Indian electric scooter sector.
Suzuki Access Electric Scooter
The Suzuki e-Access was originally displayed at the 2025 Auto Expo. Suzuki promises a long-lasting, dependable, and environmentally friendly mobility solution for everyday commuters in urban settings with its first electric scooter for the Indian market.
It should be mentioned that Suzuki’s e-Technology, which consists of a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery pack (LFP), powers the e-Access. Suzuki guarantees that the batteries and other parts have been rigorously tested for vibrations, drops, submersion, high temperatures, crush tests, punctures, and motor bench.
The Drive Mode Selector-e (SDMS-e), which offers modes including Eco Mode, Ride Mode A, Ride Mode B, and a Reverse Mode, is another noteworthy component of Suzuki e-Technology. Regenerative braking is supported by the motor, and a belt-drive system that is low-maintenance and vibration-and noise-free transfers power to the back wheels.
Elegant Style!
From the 2025 Auto Expo showcase, the Suzuki e-Access appears to be quite fashionable. Compared to 2025 Access, its design language is far more streamlined and crisp, creating a premium appeal. Further down, we can make out a chiselled apron that contains turn indicators and a vertical LED DRL.
The headlights are significantly sleeker and more upscale now that they are entirely LED. Although the rear is kept understated, the product appears high-end. Seat covers with contrasting colours and dual-tone colours give them an upscale appearance. With Suzuki e-Access, we also get a sizable TFT instrument cluster that will be packed with a variety of connectivity functions.
With a single charge, e-Access should have a range of up to 95 kilometres. The electric motor has 4.1 kW of power and 15 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 71 km/h. It has disc brakes up front and is supported by 12-inch wheels on both ends. Suzuki has not yet disclosed the precise date of e-Access’s introduction. It will compete with the Ather Rizta, Ola S1, Honda Activa e, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak when it launches.
