Sterling Tools Limited, a leading automotive component manufacturer in India, announced that its subsidiary, Sterling Gtake E-Mobility Limited (SGEM), has partnered with Landworld Technology Co. Ltd., China, to locally manufacture EV On-Board Chargers, DC/DC converters, and Multi-Function Units in India. The initiative supports India’s localisation and self-reliance goals in the electric vehicle sector.

The partnership aims to generate approximately ₹450 crore in revenue by FY2030 in a market segment projected to reach ₹3,000 crore. The components will be manufactured at SGEM’s EV campus in Faridabad, enabling import substitution and creating a robust, self-reliant ecosystem for the country’s EV industry.

Commenting on the collaboration, Anil Aggarwal, Chairman of Sterling Tools Limited, said:

“This partnership strengthens India’s EV ecosystem by expanding beyond our Motor Control Unit and Powertrain platforms. EV sub-systems are increasingly consolidated into multifunction units, and Sterling aims to offer customers greater choices for stand-alone and multifunctional solutions. We remain committed to delivering advanced technology and excellent technical support to drive EV adoption in India.”

EV On-Board Chargers allow vehicles to connect to AC power sources, controlling voltage and current for battery charging. DC/DC converters step down battery voltage for auxiliary systems. This diversification aligns with Sterling’s strategy to develop competence in EV power electronics and offer a comprehensive portfolio to the Indian auto industry.

Mr Lin Chen, Vice General Manager of Landworld Technology, added:

“India’s EV market offers immense growth potential. Through this partnership, we are bringing proven expertise in On-Board Chargers and DC/DC converters to Indian customers, contributing to the country’s self-reliance and sustainability goals.”

Sterling Gtake also plans to expand local manufacturing of EV components, strengthening India’s industrial supply chain and reducing reliance on imports. The company’s broader portfolio includes motor control units, magnet-free motors, on-board and off-board chargers, and DC/DC converters, serving both established and emerging OEMs.

This partnership reinforces Sterling Tools’ commitment to supporting India’s EV transition while promoting Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
