The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) has announced the appointment of Mr Manav Kapur, Executive Director of Steelbird, as the new Chairman of its Aftermarket Pillar. The aftermarket segment plays a crucial role in India’s automotive ecosystem, contributing to mobility, employment generation, and road safety.

Under Mr. Kapur’s leadership, the Aftermarket Pillar will work on strengthening competitiveness, driving deeper localisation, and expanding the global reach of Indian auto component manufacturers. His appointment comes at a time when India’s automotive sector is undergoing rapid technological and structural transformation.

Mr. Kapur previously served as Chairman of ACMA’s Young Business Leaders Forum (YBLF), where he led initiatives to enhance industry engagement and nurture next-generation leadership. He has now handed over the YBLF leadership to Mr Akhilesh Rai, Director, Suprajit Engineering.

Speaking about his new role, Mr Kapur said:

“The Indian aftermarket is at an inflection point. With rising vehicle ownership, growing emphasis on safety, and India’s increasing role in global mobility value chains, the opportunities ahead are significant. Our focus will be on initiatives that strengthen self-reliance while positioning India’s aftermarket industry as a trusted global partner.”

The announcement coincides with the appointment of Mr Vikrampati Singhania, Managing Director, JK Fenner (India) Ltd., as President of ACMA for 2025–26, and Mr Sriram Viji, Managing Director, Brakes India Pvt. Ltd., as President Designate. The leadership team will collaborate with Mr Vinnie Mehta, Director General of ACMA, and other office bearers to guide the sector through challenges including electrification, supply chain realignments, and global expansion.

Representing over 950 members and contributing more than 2.3% to India’s GDP, ACMA continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the nation’s Make in India vision, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainability across the auto component industry.
