Statiq has opened its newest charging station at Express Avenue Mall in Chennai. The new facility has two 60kW dual-gun chargers and three 3-in-1 chargers, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of electric vehicle models. Statiq’s sixth charger in Chennai, and the 190th in South India, demonstrates the company’s commitment to strengthening India’s EV infrastructure. Furthermore, this installation prepares the way for Statiq’s 100th DC charger in the region.

Express Avenue Mall, a prominent shopping destination with premium brands like Montblanc, H&M, and Tommy Hilfiger, also offers a variety of food, entertainment, and leisure options. With an average daily footfall of 35,000 visitors, the mall is a perfect site for Statiq’s latest charging station, which will provide further convenience to EV users.

Akshit Bansal, CEO & Founder of Statiq, highlighted the importance of this strategic initiative, stating, “Our partnership with Express Avenue Mall underscores our vision of integrating EV charging into spaces that blend convenience with community engagement. By expanding our network to high-footfall locations, we aim to encourage electric mobility while delivering a seamless charging experience for EV owners. Statiq remains committed to advancing India’s sustainable mobility goals.”

Sumathi Mohan, CFO of Express Avenue Mall, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing sustainability as a key priority. “At Express Avenue, we strive to provide a holistic experience by combining premium shopping with essential amenities. The installation of Statiq’s chargers reflects our commitment to eco-friendly practices and enhances convenience for EV users. This initiative aligns with our sustainability goals and strengthens our position as a forward-thinking destination.”

Statiq has ambitious plans to install 20,000 chargers across India by the end of 2025, extending its reach to tier-2 cities, highways, and tourist destinations. This expansion aligns with the company’s mission to support India’s transition to electric mobility, ensuring a well-connected and accessible charging infrastructure nationwide.
