In a landmark move to accelerate India’s electric mobility transition, Statiq, one of the country’s leading EV charging network providers, has announced a strategic partnership with BMW Group India. This collaboration aims to electrify India’s major highway corridors by deploying a high-power EV charging network with charging stations every 300–350 kilometres, empowering seamless long-distance travel for electric vehicle users across the nation.
Transforming India’s EV Infrastructure
Under this partnership, Statiq and BMW Group India are developing a 4,000-kilometre-long high-speed charging corridor stretching from Jammu to Madurai. The initiative ensures that all EV users—regardless of vehicle brand—have access to minimum 120 kW DC fast chargers at convenient and strategic locations, such as highways, cafés, restaurants, and public spaces. These chargers will be discoverable and accessible to BMW owners directly through the myBMW app, offering a premium and user-friendly experience.
The project is designed to reduce range anxiety, promote sustainable transportation, and encourage more consumers to transition to electric vehicles (EVs). By providing robust charging infrastructure, the partnership seeks to position India as a key player in the global green mobility revolution.
Leaders Speak on the Collaboration
Mr. Akshit Bansal, the founder and CEO of Statiq, emphasised the significance of this collaboration, saying:
“The partnership with BMW Group India marks a defining moment for India’s EV ecosystem. By enabling high-power charging every 300–350 km, we are addressing the core challenge of range anxiety and providing the confidence needed for long-distance electric mobility. Our mission at Statiq has always been to make EV charging easy, accessible, and reliable for all, and this corridor firmly places India on the global map of green mobility leaders.”
Mr Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, added:
“BMW Group India is proud to be the first luxury carmaker to surpass the milestone of 5,000 electric vehicle deliveries. Our partnership with Statiq, along with another leading EV charging operator, will expand our charging infrastructure nationwide. With chargers offering capacities from 120 kW up to 720 kW, we aim to create a convenient and customer-friendly experience. Each charging location has been designed with drivers in mind — near cafés, restaurants, and public areas — so users can relax while their vehicles recharge. This initiative is a step toward creating a seamless electric travel experience with complete peace of mind.”
Echoing this sentiment, Mr Raghav Arora, co-founder & CTO of Statiq, stated:
“This partnership demonstrates the impact of technology and collaboration in driving EV adoption. By combining seamless digital experiences with a network of high-performance chargers, we’re making India’s highways future-ready and ensuring a scalable, reliable ecosystem for both urban and intercity travel.”
Statiq’s Expanding Network and Vision for 2026
Statiq continues to emerge as a key enabler in India’s EV charging ecosystem, having already deployed over 8,000 chargers across 70 cities. These chargers are strategically placed in locations such as highways, shopping malls, hotels, fuel stations, residential complexes, and commercial hubs. The company’s platform supports real-time discovery, slot booking, and contactless payments, enhancing convenience for EV drivers nationwide.
Additionally, Statiq has integrated its network with other major charging providers like E-Fill, Sunfuel, and GLIDA, further extending interoperability and ease of access for users.
Looking ahead, Statiq plans to install 20,000 charging points by 2026 through partnerships with state governments, automotive OEMs, and real estate developers. This expansion aligns with India’s National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) and the country’s broader sustainability and net-zero goals.
Driving India Toward a Greener Future
The Statiq–BMW Group India partnership represents a pivotal step in building a reliable, future-ready EV infrastructure that promotes clean transportation and reduces dependency on fossil fuels. With this initiative, both companies reaffirm their commitment to advancing sustainable mobility, empowering EV owners with confidence, and fostering an ecosystem where long-distance electric travel becomes the new normal across India.
