Over the past two decades, India’s security landscape has undergone a profound transformation—evolving from passive hardware recording to proactive, real-time intelligence. At the forefront of this evolution is Sparsh CCTV, an industry pioneer that has spent over 24 years advancing indigenous electronics design and manufacturing in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. As India’s first STQC-certified CCTV brand and a Class-I manufacturer achieving over 70% domestic value addition, the company plays a pivotal role in securing critical infrastructure, transportation hubs, and smart city networks across the country.

In a recent interaction with EV Mechanica, Sparsh Sehgal, Chief Growth Officer at Sparsh CCTV, discussed the company’s strategic transition from a camera manufacturer into a full-stack technology enterprise. Sehgal detailed Sparsh’s robust manufacturing footprint across four state-of-the-art facilities—with a fifth coming up in Kashipur—and explained how their proprietary AI platform, Securi-Tech Intelligence, turns raw video into actionable operational insights. He also outlined the strict engineering standards required for critical infrastructure, the importance of robust cybersecurity, and Sparsh’s roadmap to take “Made in India” surveillance solutions to global markets.

Sparsh CCTV has been in the surveillance industry since 2002. How has the company’s journey evolved from manufacturing cameras to building a full AI-powered surveillance ecosystem?

For over 24 years, Sparsh CCTV has been at the forefront of India’s surveillance industry. We began in 2002 with a clear mission to build reliable, high-quality surveillance cameras designed and manufactured in India. At that time, success was measured by the performance and durability of the hardware.

As the industry evolved, so did customer expectations. Organisations wanted cameras that are capable of delivering intelligence, improving operational efficiency, and enabling proactive security.

That shift inspired us to transform from a surveillance hardware manufacturer into a technology company. Today, Sparsh CCTV offers an integrated ecosystem that combines AI-enabled cameras, video management software, advanced analytics, cloud solutions and intelligent command platforms.

With the launch of Securi-Tech Intelligence by Sparsh, we have taken another significant step forward. It serves as the AI intelligence layer across the entire surveillance ecosystem, transforming video into actionable insights that enable faster, smarter decision-making. Our vision today extends beyond capturing incidents we want to help organisations anticipate risks, respond proactively and operate more intelligently.

What differentiates Sparsh CCTV from other surveillance camera brands operating in India, especially international players?

Our biggest differentiator is that we are 100% designed and build in India.

With over 24 years of industry experience, Sparsh CCTV has consistently invested in indigenous innovation rather than simply assembling products. Today, we are proud to be India’s First STQC-Certified CCTV Brand, a Class-I manufacturer, with over 70% domestic value addition across most of our product portfolio.

Our strength lies in owning the complete technology lifecycle from Government-recognized in-house R&D and product engineering to manufacturing, AI software development and nationwide service support.

Unlike companies that primarily focus on selling hardware, we have evolved as a technology company. Through Securi-Tech Intelligence by Sparsh, we are integrating AI, analytics, cybersecurity and intelligent software with surveillance hardware to deliver complete security ecosystems.

Could you walk us through Sparsh CCTV’s manufacturing footprint, how many facilities, capacity, and what’s currently being manufactured indigenously versus sourced externally?

Manufacturing has always been one of Sparsh CCTV’s greatest strengths because we believe innovation begins with designing and building products ourselves.

Today, we operate four state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in India, with a combined production capacity of nearly one million units per month. We manufacture a comprehensive range of surveillance products, including cameras, recorders and intelligent security solutions, while continuously expanding indigenous manufacturing capabilities.

As a Class-I manufacturer, we have achieved over 70% domestic value addition across most of our products, reinforcing our commitment to the Government’s vision of self-reliance in electronics manufacturing.

This manufacturing capability is supported by our Government-recognized in-house R&D centre, where our engineering teams continuously develop new technologies, improve product performance and strengthen cybersecurity.

While certain specialised chipset components continue to be sourced through trusted global technology partners from the US until India develops its own ecosystem. Long-term strategy is to continuously enhance indigenous design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities in India.

What are the key engineering and quality benchmarks you follow while designing and manufacturing surveillance cameras for critical infrastructure and defence use cases?

India’s critical infrastructure demands surveillance technologies that deliver the highest standards of performance, reliability and security. Whether it is an airport, railway network, defence establishment, highway or smart city, every deployment plays an important role in strengthening public safety and national infrastructure.

At Sparsh CCTV, Every product is engineered and validated to perform consistently in diverse environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, dust, humidity and continuous 24×7 operations. Alongside performance, we place equal emphasis on cybersecurity, secure firmware, encrypted communication and trusted system architecture.

As India’s First STQC-Certified CCTV Brand, quality and compliance are embedded into every stage of product development. Backed by our Government-recognized in-house R&D centre, our engineering teams continuously innovate to build surveillance technologies that meet the evolving requirements of critical infrastructure.

Guided by the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, Our focus remains on delivering intelligent, dependable and future-ready solutions that organisations can rely on with complete confidence.

Sparsh CCTV cameras are deployed across railways, airports, highways, and marquee infrastructure projects. What has been the biggest learning from working across such varied environments?

The biggest lesson is that every environment presents a unique challenge. And owning in-house tech gives us faster response time and greater control on customisation.

An airport operates very differently from a railway station. A manufacturing plant has completely different priorities compared to a highway, smart city or defence installation. Each environment demands different analytics, workflows and operational intelligence.

These experiences have reinforced our belief that surveillance cannot be a one-size-fits-all solution. It must be customizable, adaptable, scalable and capable of addressing the specific operational needs of every sector.

More importantly, we’ve learned that the real value of surveillance doesn’t lie in recording video. It lies in converting that video into meaningful intelligence that enables faster decisions, improves operational efficiency and enhances public safety.

That philosophy continues to shape every solution we build.

How do you see demand for surveillance cameras evolving in India? Which sectors are driving the highest growth currently?

India’s surveillance industry is entering a new phase of growth.

Earlier, organisations primarily focused on increasing the number of cameras installed. Today, the conversation has shifted towards outcomes improving security, reducing operational risks, enhancing efficiency and generating actionable intelligence from video.

We continue to see strong demand across transportation, railways, airports, smart cities, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, education and critical infrastructure. Government initiatives promoting trusted, secure and indigenous technologies are also creating significant opportunities for Indian manufacturers.

Looking ahead, AI Intelligence like Securi-Tech will become the biggest growth driver. This will help organisations to move beyond passive monitoring and towards intelligent, real-time decision-making. The future of surveillance is about understanding them as they happen.

With the launch of Securi-Tech, how does AI integration change the role of the camera itself? Is it still just a recording device, or is Sparsh CCTV redefining what a camera does?

For many years, surveillance cameras primarily served one purpose – to record events.

Today, that role is changing dramatically.

With AI intelligence – Securi-Tech, the camera becomes the starting point of an intelligent rather than the final destination for data. AI analyses video in real time, identifies anomalies, prioritises incidents and provides operators with actionable insights instead of overwhelming them with endless hours of footage.

We introduced AI because organisations are dealing with an unprecedented volume of video data that no human operator can realistically monitor or analyse effectively.

Securi-Tech addresses this challenge by acting as the intelligence layer across the surveillance ecosystem. The camera becomes the eyes, while AI becomes the brain helping organisations detect risks earlier, respond faster and make better-informed decisions.

What’s next for Sparsh CCTV, any upcoming product launches, new manufacturing capacity, or expansion plans (domestic or international) in the pipeline?

Our roadmap is centred around three strategic priorities: 1. Advancing AI innovation, 2. Strengthening indigenous manufacturing and 3. Expanding our global presence.

We will continue investing in Securi-Tech – Intelligence by Sparsh, expanding our portfolio of AI-enabled surveillance solutions and developing technologies that make security systems more intelligent, connected and predictive.

At the same time, we remain committed to strengthening our manufacturing ecosystem in India, increasing domestic value addition and expanding production capabilities to support growing demand across both domestic and international markets.

With our Government-recognized R&D lab, four manufacturing facilities and a 5th upcoming in Kashipur, and strong focus on innovation, we believe Indian surveillance technology is well positioned to compete on the global stage.

After 24 years of building trusted surveillance solutions, our aspiration is clear. Sparsh CCTV is no longer just a camera manufacturer, we are a technology company building intelligent security ecosystems.

Our vision is to take Made in India surveillance to the next level by delivering secure, AI-powered surveillance technologies that serve customers not only across India, but around the world.
