South Korea will reduce electric vehicle (EV) charging costs by up to 15% during select weekend hours, the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment announced
The move includes a 50% discount on electricity rates for EV charging between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekends and public holidays. The benefit will apply to around 94,000 private home chargers and 13,000 public fast chargers across the country.
The initiative is aimed at lowering charging costs for EV users while encouraging off-peak electricity usage and improving grid efficiency.
The measure is part of broader efforts to promote EV adoption and make electric mobility more affordable for consumers.
