According to Sona BLW Precision Forgings (Sona Comstar), Kiran Manohar Deshmukh, the company’s group chief technological officer (CTO), will retire in October and be replaced by Praveen Chakrapani Rao. On November 1st, Rao will take on the new post.

Rao is the president of Comstar’s motor business R&D at the moment. Rao has over 32 years of product engineering and business development expertise in the automotive sector, working for companies including Bosch, Ford, Visteon, and Sona Comstar.

Since 2019, Deshmukh, who began working at the Group in 1987, has served as the CTO. He has previously held the positions of Executive Vice Chairman, Deputy Managing Director, and Chief Operating Officer of Sona Koya.

The organisation has asked him to stay on until October 31, 2024, to help the firm get through this transitional phase. Deshmukh has significantly advanced Comstar’s technology capabilities, product innovation, quality emphasis, and strategic direction throughout his time there, according to Comstar.
