The Sicilian Region has selected Rampini Spa to invest in zero-impact mobility and speed up the energy transition.

RampiniThe Municipality of Pantelleria has put into service two Rampini E60 fully electric buses, measuring 6 meters in length with a capacity of 30 passengers and a range of over 250 kilometers.

The Rampini E60, a market leader in the sector, is intended for local public transportation on the island, which is located within a National Park.

“Innovation, technology, environmental sustainability, territorial enhancement, service efficiency, customer focus and their needs represent the guiding principles of Rampini Spa’s corporate strategy,” says the Vice President and CEO of Rampini Caterina Rampini.

“Through the awarding of this important contract, we contribute to making the Sicilian mobility system increasingly sustainable. The process of energy transition to achieve zero-impact public transportation takes a big leap forward today. Rampini is certainly playing a pioneering role in green initiatives and pollutant reduction, such important issues that impact the present but above all determine the future.”

The E60 Electric, specifically designed for electric traction, is a low-floor urban bus measuring 6 meters in length, built to maneuver easily with zero emissions in the narrow streets of historic centers.

The E60 Electric can transport up to 30 passengers, providing great maneuverability and excellent range. The entire electric propulsion system is fully designed and manufactured by Rampini, including battery control. The monitoring of individual cells is also entrusted to a sophisticated management system (BMS), also developed by Rampini.

Thanks to Rampini, the decarbonization of Sicilian transportation begins, which is necessary to achieve the goal of energy self-sufficiency by 2050, as outlined in the Energy Transition Agenda drafted by the Municipality of Pantelleria, the National Park, S.Med.E. Pantelleria S.p.A., Sofip S.p.A., Politecnico di Torino, APS Resilea, and Cantina Basile, and validated by the Clean Energy for EU Island Secretariat of the European Union.

Pantelleria is participating in the “Smarter Italy, villages of the Future” program, where the island is the only Sicilian municipality selected alongside twelve others in Italy. The Smarter Italy project is just the latest chapter in an ongoing journey that aims to make Pantelleria a virtuous example of sustainability in Italy. The island is among the 26 pioneering European islands for energy transition, selected by the Clean Energy for EU Islands Secretariat.

Rampini is an uncontested leader in the sector of small-sized zero-impact buses.

The company is also highly regarded abroad, in Spain, France, Germany, Austria, and Greece, where Rampini buses have gained recognition for technological innovation and unique reliability.
