Ryde Group Ltd has announced the debut of RydeLUXE 6, a luxury electric and plug-in hybrid car service designed for high-net-worth people and corporate travellers, in an audacious attempt to tap Singapore’s underserved ultra-premium mobility niche.
The strategic move follows Ryde’s 40% acquisition of Atoll Discovery Pte Ltd, a major GAC E9 PHEV fleet operator. In addition to providing Ryde access to a premium car portfolio, this agreement allows Ryde to join Atoll’s current customers and corporate transport contracts.
By 2040, it is anticipated that Singapore’s shared mobility market will reach US$6.4 billion, with the ultra-premium segment—which includes luxury EVs and chauffeur-driven concierge rides—becoming a significant development engine. By leveraging the growing number of wealthy families and the government’s green mobility objective, Ryde estimates that RydeLUXE 6 could account for up to 10% of its overall revenue by 2027.
Terence Zou, the founder and CEO of Ryde Group, stated, “This is more than a partnership—it’s an engine for sustained high-margin growth.” “The next step in our goal to dominate Singapore’s premium sustainable mobility market is the RydeLUXE 6 with GAC E9.”
The six-seater luxury PHEV GAC E9 has a combined range of more than 1,000 km and an all-electric range of up to 136 km. It is perfect for business trips and airport transfers because it enables DC rapid charging, which allows it to achieve 80% charge in just 30 minutes.
By 2026, Atoll intends to have 100 GAC E9 aircraft in the fleet, all of which will be connected to Ryde’s premium network. The vehicle is already in use in China and ASEAN for VIP segments, guaranteeing its applicability in Singapore’s business and hospitality environment.
To attract and retain top-tier driver-partners, Ryde will offer:
- Preferential leasing rates (~S$4,200/month)
- Monthly bonus incentives up to S$300
- Guaranteed high-value bookings via Atoll’s corporate contracts routed through the Ryde app
This aligns with Ryde’s 0% commission model, empowering drivers with greater earning potential and income stability.
The rollout is in line with Singapore’s Green Plan 2030, which calls for 50% of its automobiles to be electrified. With a view towards growing into other Southeast Asian markets, Ryde’s broader EV goals are supported by collaborations with Atoll and SEV, creating an ecosystem that includes fleet leasing, infrastructure, and mobility solutions. Steven Kwek, Director at Atoll, stated, “With Ryde, we now have the platform to scale our premium EV services while directly benefiting Singapore’s luxury travel sector.”
