Electric two-wheeler startup River Mobility has reported its highest-ever monthly sales in July 2025, which marks an important turn in the company’s growth trajectory. The company sold 1,723 units of its flagship electric scooter, Indie, last month—its strongest performance since commercial operations began in January.
The Bengaluru-based firm has rapidly expanded its presence across India, known for positioning the Indie as a rugged, utility-focused EV scooter. River currently operates in eight major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune, with plans to enter 12 more markets by the end of FY25.
Aravind Mani, Co-founder and CEO of River, expressed optimism about the company’s upward trajectory. “The record-breaking July performance is a reflection of growing customer trust and our commitment to delivering high-quality electric mobility solutions tailored for Indian conditions,” he said.
River’s Indie scooter, often dubbed the “SUV of scooters,” has gained popularity for its robust design, large storage capacity, and all-terrain capability. With a claimed real-world range of up to 120 km on a single charge, it appeals to urban commuters, gig workers, and adventure riders alike.
Backed by marquee investors like Al-Futtaim Group and Lowercarbon Capital, River Mobility aims to ramp up production and expand its charging and service infrastructure to meet rising demand.
As the Indian EV two-wheeler market continues to evolve, River’s recent performance places it firmly among the promising new players challenging legacy brands in the clean mobility space.
