Renault Group and Volvo Group have finalised the formation of Flexis SAS, a joint venture focused to developing the next generation of electric vans. With regulatory clearances gained after binding agreements signed on October 6th, 2023, the new firm will participate in the manufacturing of completely electric vans based on a Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) platform and related services.

Flexis SAS, headquartered in France, will meet the growing need for carbon-free and efficient urban logistics. Renault Group and Volvo Group agree to invest €300 million together over the next three years. Furthermore, after a non-binding agreement on October 6th, 2023, CMA CGM Group has shown interest in a strategic investment of up to €120 million via PULSE, its €1.5 billion investment fund devoted to logistics decarbonisation.

The new line of fully electric vans featuring SDV technology is set to debut, with production of the first van slated to commence in 2026
