The Charge Point Operators Society of India (CPOSI) has appointed Rajeev YSR as its National Spokesperson, further strengthening the industry body’s engagement with policymakers and stakeholders as India’s electric mobility ecosystem scales up. Rajeev YSR is a Board Member of CPOSI and the CEO of ThunderPlus, and the appointment reflects his extensive experience in the EV charging sector and his active involvement in building and expanding charging infrastructure across multiple regions in India.

As National Spokesperson, Rajeev YSR will represent CPOSI at national and state-level platforms, serving as a key interface with policymakers, regulators, government bodies, media, and industry partners. His role will focus on articulating the collective voice of charge point operators on critical
sectoral issues, including EV policies, investment frameworks, standards and interoperability, grid integration, and the long-term sustainability and scalability of charging business models in India.

      Commenting on the broader mandate,
Abhinav Sinha, Director, CPOSI, said, “The charger uptime task force is being constituted to address critical reliability, performance, and operational consistency challenges within India’s EV charging ecosystem. Mr. Rajeev YSR has been nominated to speak about the challenges and recommendations of this task force in view of his decade-long engagement across logistics operations, electric mobility entrepreneurship, and policy advisory roles. His experience, ranging from entrepreneurship through ETO Motors to advising the Government of Andhra Pradesh, provides a comprehensive understanding of the EV value chain. Additionally, his role in scaling ThunderPlus EV charging networks in the country brings direct, hands-on operational insight to this mandate. The CPOS Board’s decision to appoint him as spokesperson reflects a considered assessment of capability to voice true need of Ease of Doing Business for CPOs.”

The EV charging sector is widely regarded as a cornerstone of India’s clean mobility transition. While charger deployment has accelerated in recent years, the industry continues to face structural challenges such as fragmented standards, evolving regulatory frameworks, power infrastructure readiness, and the need to build consumer confidence. CPOSI has been working to address these issues by fostering collaboration among operators, encouraging knowledge sharing, and enabling structured dialogue with government and regulatory au
      thorities.

Commenting on the appointment, Rajeev YSR said, “Charge Point Operators are central to India’s EV transition. Beyond deploying chargers, the sector today must address challenges around standards, policy alignment, grid readiness, and consumer trust. Collaboration across the ecosystem will be essential to building a resilient and scalable charging network. Through CPOSI, we aim to enable constructive dialogue with policymakers, encourage cooperation over fragmentation, and support the long-term viability of EV cha
      rging infrastructure in India.”

He added that India’s EV journey is still at an early stage, and a unified industry approach will play a decisive role in accelerating EV adoption, improving charging accessibility, and strengthening the country’s clean a
      nd sustainable mobility future.
