Daimler Truck has named Raghavendra Vaidya as its new chief information officer. He will take over the company’s IT department on June 1, 2025, promoting innovation and expansion throughout the enterprise. Marcus Claesson, who will depart the company at his own request, is replaced by Vaidya.
“We are thrilled to have Raghavendra Vaidya join our Executive Team,” says Andreas Gorbach, who is a member of the Truck Technology Board of Management. “In his prior position, Raghavendra developed, reinforced, and improved the Daimler Truck Innovation Centre India (DTICI) in Bangalore, making it a vital component of Daimler Truck for engineering, IT, and central activities. Having worked in a variety of IT roles for more than 25 years, he brings a wealth of experience, expertise, strategic vision, and leadership to his new position, which will help guide our business into a quickly changing data-driven future.”
At the moment, Raghavendra Vaidya is in charge of all IT operations in India as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Daimler Truck Innovation Centre India (DTICI). In 2016, he became Senior Vice President-IT at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India, formerly part of Daimler AG. He has previously served in a variety of executive roles for a number of General Electric business divisions. Vaidya has a Master of Technology degree in Software Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS), and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore.
At his own desire, Marcus Claesson has made the decision to quit the organisation in order to pursue new prospects. He significantly aided Daimler Truck’s expansion and technological development throughout his time there.
“I would like to thank Marcus for his contribution establishing our new IT set-up following the spin-off from the former Daimler AG,” Andreas Gorbach comments. In addition to making significant transformative changes and spearheading vehicle connectivity for all brands globally,” Marcus has accomplished the impossible feat of setting up a stand-alone IT system, reaching the milestone of more than one million connected vehicles. We are confident that Raghavendra will build on this solid basis, and we wish Marcus the best for the future.”
Raghavendra Vaidya’s successor will be revealed when the time is right.
