Omega Seiki Mobility appears ready to launch a 4-door electric rickshaw with air conditioning and a sunroof, following a patent filing for the distinctive 3-wheeler. The vehicle, initially showcased as the ‘Muse’ at the 2023 Auto Expo, is designed to enhance passenger comfort while retaining the practicality and affordability typical of three-wheelers.
Exterior Features
The Omega Seiki 4-door rickshaw features a raked, large windshield for better visibility and a spacious feel. Circular LED headlamps are paired with halogen turn signals, while a roof-mounted extended rear-view mirror offers a wider field of view particularly useful with the full-body doors. Standard flap-type door handles, decently sized windows, and a flat boot lid with vertically stacked tail lamps complement the design. A spare tyre is mounted in the boot area.
Interiors and Equipment
Inside, the cabin emphasizes simplicity and space. Premium touches include a touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charger, and AC controls located below the handlebar. The driver seat is quilted, and the rear bench comfortably accommodates three passengers. Rear AC vents are roof-mounted, and a fixed square glass roof enhances ventilation and natural light.
Battery, Performance, and Specs
The rickshaw uses an 8-kWh NMC battery pack, with an IDC-certified range of 150 km and an estimated real-world range of 100 km. It can reach a top speed of 50 km/h, weighs 500 kg, and has a gradeability of 30%. A 15% regenerative braking system is included to extend range, and the vehicle uses an automatic transmission. Charging takes approximately four hours. The rickshaw can carry up to 950 kg, making it suitable for both passengers and light cargo.
While the 2023 specs may vary in the production model, the 4-door AC electric rickshaw promises improved comfort and practicality for Indian urban conditions. Availability and pricing will be key factors in its market adoption.
